You are able to vote on FVCC candidates for the first time in a long time because we exposed the secret fraud perpetuated by the present Board of Trustees. It appears few of the incumbent trustees were elected in their last election by the voters. The trustees appointed themselves!
Therefore, the present trustee incumbents do not represent you. They represent their own personal social click. This is your opportunity to remove 3 of the incumbents and replace them with people who represent you.
We recommend you vote for your choice of the BLUE candidates shown on the ballots below, and reject the RED incumbent candidates. In the case of RED Robert Nystuen, who has no challenger, we recommend you write in and vote for Michael Hebert.

I’m glad that you suggested using Michael Hebert’s name to oppose Glacier Bank President Robert Nyusten. It would have been better served had Michael Hebert and Tim Baldwin, JD used some forethought to not run against each other for Shannon Lund’s post. Perhaps this was the fault of the balloting officials not clearly advertising that Glacier Bank President Robert Nyusten’s three-year Trustee term was unopposed!
Unfortunately for me, I had to vote for the Whitefish, Columbia Falls, Bigfork positions.
@1 Twin Lakes, The conflict occurred because I first applied to run against Nystuen according to the instructions given to me by the college. This caused Baldwin and Herbert to run against Lund rather than against me.
At 2 pm on April 4, the last day to file for trustee, FVCC called me to tell me I applied in the wrong district and that I was in the Bigfork high school district. I live in the Kalispell lower valley, vote in Somers, but live in the Bigfork high school district. The final word from FVCC is correct based upon the county GIS map.
But this confusion of districts is related to my complaint that the FVCC did not advertise the trustee nominations, which by law must include district explanations. (The FVCC claim that they advertised trustee nominations is not supported by data.)
With only a few hours left, I drove to FVCC to pick up a new application, back to Bigfork to get rush signatures, back to FVCC to turn in my new application just 5 minutes before the 5 pm deadline. During this time, I called Mike Hebert to tell him I had to file in the Bigfork district and this would leave Nystuen unchallenged.
When I arrived to deliver my new application to FVCC, Hebert was there requesting his application be changed so he could run against Nystuen. The FVCC refused his request based upon a technicality that I think was irrelevant. Now you know why Nystuen is running unopposed.
Had the FVCC trustees property advertised the openings for trustee nominations and properly set the closing date for April 4 according to law, then this confusion would not have happened.
Tom Harding blatantly lied at the Pachyderm meeting when he said the trustees advertised the openings for trustee nominations. For someone who has been a trustee for almost 20 years to not understand the difference between advertising the election and advertising trustee nominations is beyond comprehension. I attempted to discuss this issue with him after the meeting but Harding refused to talk about it. He is no asset to the board and I sincerely hope voters replace him.
